Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SafeWalk mobile application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SafeWalk is a pedestrian safety application that provides walking route suggestions, real-time incident reporting, safe stop locations, and safety features including Safety Circles, Follow Me, and SOS alerts.

Important: SafeWalk is a decision-support tool. Route suggestions are based on available data and do not guarantee safety. Always use your own judgment, stay aware of your surroundings, and contact emergency services (112 in the EU, 911 in the US) in case of immediate danger.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SafeWalk. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Account Registration

  • You may register using email, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or LinkedIn Sign-In.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or malicious incident reports.
  • Use the Service to stalk, harass, or endanger other users.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

  • SafeWalk offers a free tier and optional premium subscriptions (Monthly and Annual).
  • Payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled by the respective app store according to their policies.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice.

7. User-Generated Content

When you submit incident reports, safe stop suggestions, or other content, you grant SafeWalk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service for safety purposes.

You retain ownership of your content. We may remove content that violates these Terms or is flagged as inaccurate by the community.

8. Intellectual Property

The SafeWalk name, logo, app design, and proprietary algorithms are owned by SafeWalk. You may not use our branding without written permission.

9. Disclaimers

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of route safety assessments, incident reports, or safe stop information.
  • SafeWalk is not a replacement for emergency services. In case of danger, call your local emergency number.
  • We are not responsible for actions taken by other users.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafeWalk and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting anadelta.greece@gmail.com.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Athens, Greece, unless EU consumer protection law provides otherwise.

In accordance with EU Regulation No 524/2013, the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for consumers. You can access it at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our email for ODR purposes is anadelta.greece@gmail.com.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email.
